The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering expert services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency stated it can be alarmed about the significant number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a superior number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office committed to service the area daily. The service point established for intervention ordeals a significant inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this sassa status reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra assets to enable the servicing of all buyers and improve use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
